Fall into a Radiant Skincare Routine

Optimize your cleansing. Cleanse your skin without stripping it of its natural oils. Avoid harsh foaming agents, such as sodium lauryl sulfate, which makes the skin feel squeaky clean. Rinse your facial cleanser off with a warm, damp cloth to thoroughly remove debris from the skin.

Exfoliate. Exfoliating removes the outermost layers of the epidermis, the skin you can see and touch. By removing these superficial layers of skin, your serums and moisturizers will penetrate the skin more efficiently. Exfoliating regularly also reduces breakouts by ensuring oils can be freely released from the pores and not be trapped by dry, dead skin.

Moisturize. Moisturizing keeps our skin cells hydrated, healthy and comfortable. Keeping your skin hydrated will help protect it from harsh weather changes such as excessive wind and cooler temperatures.

Drink and eat your hydration. Drink half your weight in ounces in quality water. Enjoy seasonal fruits such as apples and pears which provide hydration, fiber and beneficial phytonutrients such as vitamins and enzymes.

Protect your skin. The autumnal weather may not be as hot and sunny but diligence with sunblock is still key. Using a broad-spectrum physical sunblock will keep your skin protected from damaging UV radiation. 

Use a humidifier. Turning the heat on in your home can lead to dry skin because it removes moisture from the air. Try using a humidifier at bedtime to put moisture back into the air and keep your skin hydrated and comfortable.
