Multi-Masquing 101

Multi-Masquing is a skincare technique that allows you to address multiple skin concerns at one time. Your skin's needs can change from day to day and Multi-Masquing allows you to customize your experience to fulfill those needs with ease. Just as important as the masques you're using, so is your masque placement. Let's dive deeper into how each masque will benefit your skin, then, consider our recommendations on placement by skin type. Enjoy the glow!
Get to know your masques
Ocean Berry Gommage, our jade-hued "3 in 1" scrub, masque and gommage (a lovely French word for exfoliation) offers an uplifting and energizing experience. Your complexion will be treated to skin-smoothing jojoba beads and invigorating mint leaf extract. Seaweed extract, like a superfood for your skin, and barrier-protecting and skin plumping nutripeptides will leave your skin soft, firm and protected. An essential oil blend of Lavender, Tea Tree, Orange and Rosemary provides anti-bacterial, calming and uplifting benefits.
Cherry Plum Peel, our signature at-home ruby-hued peel stimulates essential microcirculation providing you with a radiant glow! Antioxidant-rich grape, plum and cherry extracts and pulps mitigate harmful free-radical damage, flooding your skin cells with the nourishment they crave.
Your senses will be treated to the aromatic delight that is our House of Hilt Infusion No. 1 blend, a medicinal-grade tincture that nourishes your skin and revitalizes your spirit. Plant based glycolic and lactic acids sink down deep into your skin to stimulate cellular turnover (essential for minimizing fine lines and wrinkles) while aspen bark extract (a naturally occurring beta hydroxy acid) dissolves excess oil. 

Optimizing your Multi-Masque experience

Dry, aging skin

If your skin feels tight and dry or if you have wrinkles, fine lines and/or hyperpigmentation throughout your skin, this is the Multi-Masque experience for you! Nourish thirsty areas of your skin with your Ocean Berry Gommage and apply your Cherry Plum Peel to any dark spots or etched-in wrinkles to minimize their appearance. Apply a generous layer of Ocean Berry Gommage to your neck for added hydration and Cherry Plum Peel to your décolleté to brighten hyperpigmentation.

Combination skin

If you find your cheeks tend to be normal to dry and your T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) to be oilier, you likely have combination skin, which is very common. We recommend applying your Ocean Berry Gommage to your cheeks for its moisturizing benefits and your Cherry Plum Peel on your T-zone for the oil-balance benefits.

Congested, blemish-prone skin

Congested skin refers to any combination of blackheads, whiteheads and active breakouts. Target congested areas of your skin with your Cherry Plum Peel allowing the aspen bark extract to "powerwash" your pores. Apply your Ocean Berry Gommage elsewhere to reduce fine lines and smooth your skin's overall texture.

Pro tip: For open, inflamed breakouts, it's best to leave them free of any form of exfoliation and allow your skin to heal. While you Multi-Masque, do apply a repairing serum, such as your Firming Peptide Serum, which contains Acetyl Tetrapeptide-40, a clinically studied ingredient known to calm irritated skin and speed your skin's natural healing process.

How often should you Multi-Masque?

Multi-Masquing is a helpful technique to keep in your skincare regimen up to twice a week in the evening, with a few days in between. Apply your masques directly after double cleansing your skin with either your Herbal Mint Cleanser or your Carrot Citrus Cleanser and removing thoroughly with a damp washcloth. After you've let your Multi-Masque sit for 3-5 minutes, rinse your skin thoroughly and apply either your Firming Peptide Serum, Amber Primrose Facial Oil, or Avocado Rosehip Moisturizer. Be sure to nourish your delicate eye area with your Illuminating Eye Creme and then it's off to bed!
