Tips for Hydrated Winter Skin

It's officially winter! Time to talk about caring for the skin with the season change. Here are some simple tips to maintain a healthy gorgeous glow, all season long. 

Let's start with skincare.  A creamy facial cleanser like our Carrot Citrus Cleanser is a perfect choice for drier, colder weather. Full of nourishing butters and hydrating oils, it cleanses the skin without stripping away much-needed moisture. Its creamy emulsion will leave skin soft and supple which is what we want this time of the year.

Another great skincare switch for this season is to swap your exfoliating product. Choose one that has hydrating and polishing properties like our Ocean Berry Gommage.  Full of jojoba beads with GAGs (aka. glycosaminoglycans which hold 1,000 times its weight in moisture!) dry skin will be a thing of the past.

Consider a change in your bathing routine by taking warm to cool baths and showers. As comforting as a hot shower is, it's really dehydrating.

Adding a humidifier to your home also helps support the skin by adding moisture back into the air. The skin is extremely vulnerable at night as that is when our skin repairs itself, so having a tabletop humidifier on your nightstand is a great option.

We also love hydrating the skin from within by including omega 3 and 6 into our diets. Flaxseed oil, chia seeds, hemp seeds, olive oil, walnuts, and avocados (just to name a few!) are all great options to incorporate these skin-nourishing nutrients.
